Political ads create stress, confusion, NEO voters say

The Ohio Senate race between Sherrod Brown and Bernie Moreno is the most costly in the country.

“Each video I click on or each corner I turn, it’s the same ad popping up every second,” said Kent State student Cordell Rudolph.

In the month of September, Republican groups spent around $59 million on ads against Brown and for Moreno, according to Medium buying.

“I think it’s important that people know who is funding the ads and then they can look up that organization or whoever it is so they know what they stand for,” said Kent State student Laura McCann.

For example, Fairshake PAC, a political action committee funded by cryptocurrency and blockchain firms, has spent around $40.1 million in ads favoring Moreno.

“It’s such a rabbit hole, and I don’t want to say people don’t care,” said Jessica Hardesty, a Medina resident. “It’s just more complicated than it has to be.”
